Gintoki apologizes for the embarrassing future of Gintama after quoting the end of the movie "Gintama: The Movie: The Final Chapter: Be Forever Yorozuya". He discovers that the entire town has been frozen in place. Gintoki, Kagura, and Shinpachi Shimura realize this stasis results from an alien device that Gintoki previously broke. They seek assistance from Gengai Higara, but he dies shortly after they meet. To prevent Gengai's fate, the Yorozuya attempt various interventions, yet Hasegawa ends up dying instead. Their repeated efforts to save both men lead to accidental consequences, culminating in Piccolo from Dragon Ball killing Gengai and Hasegawa.
