They encounter a man wielding his sword at couples, who turns out to be Kondo. He has lost his mind after Otae rejected his invitation to spend the festival together. Unable to tolerate his pitiful state, Hijikata and Okita provide him with a Roachief RX mask before fleeing the scene. This event highlights the chaotic interactions between the Shinsengumi members and their personal struggles amidst the festive atmosphere.
