Victorique discloses to Kujou that her father brought her to the convent to lure out Cordelia and Brian. During their escape, the pair are separated by an illusion. Victorique meets Brian, who states his intention to halt her father and the Academy. Kujou encounters Cordelia, who gives him a ring and words of encouragement for her daughter and Marquis Albert de Blois. Albert tries to compel Kujou to hand over Victorique, but Kujou refuses and departs. Albert triggers a time-release trap that opens the floodgates, inundating the convent. Kujou narrowly escapes the rising waters with Victorique.
