A young boy named Marco lives in Genoa with his father Pietro. His mother had gone to Argentina a year earlier to find work and regularly sent letters, which suddenly stop. Concerned, Marco decides to travel to Argentina to find her. Initially against the idea, Pietro eventually lets Marco go. Marco's journey leads him to meet various people, and through these experiences, he grows and gains self-acceptance.
