High school student Umaru Doma maintains a refined public image but behaves like a slob at home, often ordering her older brother Taihei around. She attempts to teach tricks to her pet hamsters in an effort to win an online contest. After spending time with her worried classmate Nana Ebina, Umaru engages in an intense snacking session that leaves her too full to eat her favorite meal. She subsequently becomes angry at Taihei for leaving a gaming session to buy weekly groceries.
