During a practical exercise in the Kafka Forest, Ray defeats a giant monster attacking his group. A mysterious sorcerer subsequently revives the creature in a more ferocious state. With combined support from Amelia, Elisa, and Evi Armstrong, Ray manages to defeat the monster permanently. Their efforts result in their group finishing first. Following the battle, Ray visits his master, Lydia Ainsworth, the previous holder of the title of Iceblade Sorcerer, to discuss certain matters.
