Ep. 23: Dio halts time to defeat Jotaro, who survives by faking death and counterattacks before Dio escapes to Joseph.

Believing The World surpasses Star Platinum, Dio stops time to kill Jotaro but finds the latter can move slightly during the freeze. Jotaro bluffs about using magnets to explain this ability, then strikes with Star Platinum while time is halted. Dio retreats to range, throwing knives that wound Jotaro, who survives by hiding magazines under his clothing. Polnareff intervenes to save Jotaro but is knocked unconscious by Dio. Jotaro continues feigning death, even stopping his own heart with Star Platinum to deceive Dio. When Dio approaches, Jotaro strikes his skull, causing paralysis. However, Dio tricks Jotaro into punching him toward Joseph, enabling Dio to drain Joseph's blood and complete his fusion with Jonathan's body.
