Following his confrontation with Toji, Megumi is ambushed by curse user Haruta Shigemo. Suffering from critical injuries, Megumi is pushed to the brink of death. In a desperate move to survive, he initiates an exorcism ritual that Haruta cannot defeat. This ritual targets Mahoraga, Megumi's most powerful shikigami, which is currently acting without control. The situation forces Haruta into a battle against this uncontrollable entity, creating a dire scenario for the curse user. Megumi relies on this strategic maneuver to turn the tide against his attacker despite his severe physical condition.
