Lacking self-esteem, he deems asking her out impossible, yet Kaguya Shinomiya offers support by setting a condition: he must achieve a top 50 academy score in the upcoming final exams. Yu fails to reach this ranking, leaving him feeling guilty and bitter as he vows to succeed in the next semester. Meanwhile, Chika Fujiwara stays overnight at Kaguya's residence. The two girls call Miyuki Shirogane to inquire about his romantic interest. Kei Ayase answers the phone, claiming to be Herthaka, a friend of Miyuki's. This creates a misunderstanding because Ai Hayasaka is actually cross-dressing as Kaguya's butler under that same pseudonym.
