Following a tie in a hot water contest, Kakeru joins the dorm's morning jogs while continuing to oppose Haiji, aiming to force other residents to quit. The next day, several residents boycott the exercise routine. A young girl in a school uniform approaches Kakeru with admiration, leading to her introduction to the team as Hana-chan. Additionally, Kakeru encounters his former high school teammate, Sakaki, during these events.
