In 2002, the Marine Express, the first underwater train connecting America and Japan, prepares for its first journey. A chief engineer believes the test run may be used for illegal activities and hires private detective Ban Shunsaku. Upon arriving at his client's home, Shunsaku discovers the man has been killed. With only a brief look at the killer's face, he takes the Marine Express to investigate. What begins as a routine case turns complicated as the train harbors unknown and unexpected secrets.
