During the Universal Century 0079, a group of Zakus from the Principality of Zeon attacks a neutral space colony. Amuro Ray is forced to take control of the Gundam G40, a prototype mobile suit, to defend against the assault. He faces off against Char Aznable, a skilled Zeon pilot, who commands a customized red Zaku II. The animated short was created to support the High Grade 1/144 scale Gundam G40 model kit and to mark the 40th anniversary of the Gundam series.
