Ren begins a one-week trial period where he assists other servants to learn his duties. During the final day, he chases a ferret belonging to the wife of a school board member associated with Yume. In the process, Ren accidentally breaks a memento belonging to the previous master. Rather than facing punishment for the damage, Ren successfully passes the trial due to his demonstrated hard work. Consequently, he is officially hired as Shinra's personal attendant, marking the end of his probationary phase and the start of his new role within the household.
