A 35-year-old writer named Chisato, who appears much younger, is the father of a 15-year-old boy named Riju. Chisato dislikes Riju's friends, believing they intend to harm him. He attempts to remove them from Riju's life by offering poisoned cakes while maintaining a friendly demeanor. One of Riju's friends, Shunsuke, is not fooled by Chisato's actions. The story explores whether Shunsuke truly has ill intentions toward Riju, introduces a mysterious writer Chisato is fond of, and questions Chisato's belief that Riju's friends are out to exploit him.
