During a school field trip to the mountains, Himeko worries about Heartseed’s previous warnings. Iori notices Himeko’s romantic feelings for Taichi and confronts her. Himeko admits she suppressed her emotions to keep the group together, believing she was too weak to be loved. Iori encourages her to stop self-deprecating and reaffirms their friendship. Suddenly, Heartseed possesses Iori, falsely claiming Taichi fell off a cliff. Panicked, Himeko rushes to find him, only to discover he merely fell from a tree while saving a kitten. Relieved, Himeko cries. With the desire unleashing phenomenon over, she decides to confess to Taichi. Although rejected, she remains confident she might win him over someday and kisses him.
