Faeries at Luna Nova initiate a strike, halting witch magic to demand a fairer portion of energy from the Sorcerer's Stone. Ursula is dispatched to retrieve excess energy for the school. Meanwhile, Croix Meridies joins the faculty to instruct students in modern magic. This development causes significant dismay among the more traditionally-minded teachers at the academy. The strike continues to disrupt daily operations while the new teaching methods create tension within the staff.
