Fujiko serves as the model for a crystal mermaid statue created by the renowned Norwegian sculptor Vingel. Although Vingel promised to gift the artwork to her upon completion, he betrayed her trust by selling it to the mayor of Bergen. The statue is now displayed as a major tourist attraction in the city. Seeking revenge for the deception, Fujiko hires Lupin to steal the valuable piece back from the mayor. Lupin accepts the mission to help Fujiko recover the sculpture that was rightfully promised to her, navigating the challenges of retrieving the item from its new public location.
