Ep. 2: Inspector Zenigata's scheme to capture Lupin using a fake gold meteor fails
Aired on March 10, 1984

Inspector Zenigata devises an elaborate strategy to apprehend Lupin by presenting a counterfeit meteor constructed from 6 tons of pure gold. He intends to lure the thief into a trap using this valuable bait. However, the plan ultimately backfires against the inspector. Instead of being captured, Lupin and his accomplices successfully steal the meteor. The scheme results in the loss of the gold object rather than the arrest of the criminal. This outcome highlights the failure of Zenigata's attempt to use the heavy metal lure to secure a victory over his persistent rival.
