Kazuki Shikimori attends a prestigious magic academy despite his poverty and a severe limitation that allows him to cast magic only eight times before turning to ash and disappearing. In the first episode, Yuna Miyama transfers to Aoi Academy and asserts that she is Kazuki's wife. Simultaneously, Rin Kamishiro and Kuriko Kazetsubaki receive instructions from their families to meet Kazuki and acquire his genes, believing his lineage could produce the most powerful magician in the world.
