The Rubber Robo Gang devises a scheme to exploit Ikki and Metabee for their own gain. Their objective is to acquire a super rare medal belonging to Dr. Aki. This scientist is the creator of Medabots and is also the uncle of Karin. The plan relies on manipulating the two protagonists to infiltrate Dr. Aki's possession and retrieve the valuable item. This narrative point corresponds to Episode 13 in the Nelvana English dubbed version of the series.
