Kogoro, Ran, and Conan attend a car accident charity hosted by Shou Beniko. They receive a warning from the Phantom of the Cursed Masks but proceed to a large mansion divided into east and west sections. The only connecting room is a mask room locked at midnight. The mansion houses various celebrities, including a baseball player, a prophet, a rockstar, and a man whose wife died in a hit-and-run. Shou owns 200 masks created by a man who died surrounded by bloody masks after his owners suffered tragic fates. A priest seals the curse, but Shou is later found murdered in a locked room with a dagger in her throat. Conan solves the mystery, revealing the culprit whose mother was blamed for the hit-and-run and killed by Shou, who profited from the charity.
