Conan, Ran, Sonoko, Kyogoku, and Sera witness a hostage situation involving a pistol while returning home. The incident is revealed to be a TV drama shoot, allowing Kyogoku to replace a fainted actor. The group visits the closed schoolyard and fourth-floor classroom set, meeting director Shigematsu Tomioka, assistant director Daisaku Otori, actor Ayaya Tokuzono, and staff members Nanako Kamiaki, Hideka Yui, and Yota Hazuki. Kyogoku practices action scenes with a detective. During a break, a camera is positioned for Tokuzono to perform a fall from the fourth floor. Suddenly, Tokuzono screams and falls, while Kyogoku appears in the fourth-floor window.
