Mirai Shounen Conan

In July 2008, a powerful ultra-magnetic weapon caused catastrophic destruction, wiping out half the world and altering the Earth's axis, leading to the continents breaking apart and sinking beneath the ocean. Attempts to escape to space failed as most spacecraft were destroyed. One ship, however, managed to escape and crash-landed on a small island that remained intact. The surviving crew settled there, gradually forming a new community. Years later, a boy was born on the island, representing new life in a ruined world.
