1EP 1Rin survives death and partners with Kouki after infiltrating Aoyama Pharmaceutical labs.
Feb 4, 2008After a female assassin named Laura kills Rin on a rooftop, she wakes up unharmed in her apartment. She searches for a missing cat and encounters Kouki Maeno, who feels his memories are fabricated despite not being amnesiac. Rin and her partner Mimi discover Kouki is linked to Aoyama Pharmaceutical. They infiltrate the company's labs but are captured. The chief researcher, Sayara Yamanobe, tortures Rin to death, while Kouki is revealed to be a runaway cloning test subject. Rin miraculously survives her injuries and confronts Yamanobe, leaving her to delirious test subjects. As the facility is demolished, Rin gives Kouki a gun to decide his fate. He appears to commit suicide, but the next day he returns to her office with the cat and a head wound, asking to become her business partner.
2EP 2Rin investigates a stamp theft while Kouki seeks an angel linked to Yuki's missing brother.
Mar 3, 2008One year after the Aoyama Pharmaceutical incident, Rin tracks a rare stamp and visits Professor, who is attacked by Laura. Kouki finds Rin’s mutilated body and witnesses her regeneration, learning from Mimi that they are immortal due to time fruit. Murders occur, and Rin discovers Yuki’s brother Shogo became an angel seeking revenge. Angels are natural enemies of immortals, using lust to devour them. Rin confronts Shogo, seemingly succumbing to desire before killing him. Apos appears to claim the time fruit, but Rin gives it to Kouki, who passes it to Yuki. Rin returns the stamp to Professor, who regrets his wasted life.
3EP 3Kouki becomes an angel after dying to save Rin from Sayara's Higan plot on Death Island.
Apr 7, 2008Twenty years after episode two, Kouki works for Rin and is married to Yuki with a son. A dying girl’s cryptic warning leads Rin to investigate the biological weapon Higan, tested on Death Island. Police officer Tamotsu Yanagihara links the island’s former residents to recent Tokyo bombings. Rin is captured and taken to the island, where she finds Sayara Yamanobe survived as an immortal using an exoskeleton. Mimi visits an unnamed informant who demands sex for information about the group Kudoru. Rin survives vivisection but is killed again while fleeing. Sayara plans to exterminate humans with Higan. Kouki arrives by helicopter to rescue Rin but is fatally shot. He consumes Shogo’s time fruit, becoming an angel to carry Rin to safety. He then attacks Sayara, but Apos removes their time fruits, killing them instantly. The next day, Rin and Mimi remain shaken in their office.
4EP 4Teruki witnesses Ruon's murder and faces cyborg attacks while uncovering AI origins.
May 5, 2008Teruki meets Ruon in virtual reality, then sees her murdered in reality. He visits Asougi Consulting, where Mimi reveals Ruon is an AI based on Katsuyuki Kamiyama’s deceased daughter. During a walk, cyborg Laura attacks Rin, who regenerates and explains time fruits. Mimi and Tamotsu link Ruon to Project L'Isle-Adam. After Kamiyama attacks, commandos force the group to flee. Mimi mentions The Future Eve. Military forces capture Teruki. Rin and Mimi realize the real-world Ruon was an android. Tamotsu is shot by a sniper while providing Teruki’s flight details. Rin boards the plane, finding Kamiyama dead. Ruon manipulated the military to reach Teruki. Rin pushes Teruki to safety with a parachute. She fights Ruon, and both fall into the jet engine. Later, Mimi visits Tamotsu’s grave. Rin’s fate remains unknown.
5EP 5Thirty years later, amnesiac Rin hunts immortals while her daughter Mishio uncovers the truth.
Jun 2, 2008Thirty years after episode four, borders between 1.0 and 2.0 are erased, allowing real-world downloads. Rin regenerated her body over twenty-five years, suffering retrograde amnesia. Teruki is a businessman, Mimi a Buddhist nun. Apos disguised Laura as Rin to hunt immortals for time fruits. Teruki’s daughter Mishio discovers Rin’s records and meets her. Rin works for an immortal CEO killed by Laura. Mishio blames Rin and follows her. Rin refuses Ihika’s proposal due to amnesia. Teruki avoids Rin to protect her from painful memories. Mimi reveals Rin hunts immortals. Rin accepts Ihika’s new proposal, but Laura kills them both, restoring Rin’s memories. They escape to Teruki’s estate, then take a train to Kyoto to reach Mimi’s temple. Mimi invites three immortals, but Laura brings angels who devour them. Rin defeats Laura and the angels, only to witness Mimi raped by Apos. Apos, an immortal angel hybrid, removes Rin’s time fruit, presumably killing her.
6EP 6Rin escapes Apos and becomes Yggdrasil's Guardian after consuming Kouki's time fruit.
Jul 7, 2008Rin awakens in Apos' castle at Yggdrasil, having regenerated instead of being consumed. She kills a masked angel, revealing him to be Ihika. Mimi and Mishio locate the castle with Tajimamori's help, who explains Apos plans to sacrifice Rin to become the new eternal Guardian. Rin fights Laura but escapes after Apos betrays her. Laura joins Mimi and Mishio, leading them to Yggdrasil. Rin reunites with her ancient love, Tajimamori, and they consummate their relationship before Apos kills his father and pushes Rin into the tree. Mishio fails to rescue her initially, but Rin grabs Kouki's time fruit from her necklace. The fruit's spirit helps Rin break free from Yggdrasil's merge. Mishio, a Maenos descendant, pulls Rin to safety. As the new Guardian, Rin defeats Apos by feeding him Tajimamori and Laura's spores. In the epilogue, Rin gives birth to Tajimamori's son in the castle, noting his lineage will spread Yggdrasil's link to all mankind.
