A primary energy source, known as Akuto, is depleting, prompting the Heavens—a realm of islands existing beyond time and hovering above the world—to unite against the Magical Kingdom, which consumes the most energy. To preserve both the Magical Kingdom and the Heavens and revive the Akuto supply, the Magical King Munto acts on a vision to locate Yumemi in the lower world. Yumemi is an ordinary girl with the unique ability to see the floating islands of the Heavens. Upon Munto's arrival, she begins to contemplate her and others' roles in the fate of the world.
