Mugai defeats Saizou and absorbs his insect energy into his weapon. Sanada Yukimura invites the Insect Magistrate to join him at the "King," but she declines. Jinbei engages in combat to distract him, allowing the Insect Magistrate time to enter the poison well. However, Jinbei fails to overcome his opponent and is thrown into the well instead. The episode then reveals the Insect Magistrate's history and discloses the true nature of the poison well.
