Before becoming a mushishi, Ginko traveled constantly because his condition attracts mushi. He was once taken in and taught by a mushishi named Suguro, who resided in the territory of a dying Mountain Lord. During this time, Ginko reflected on his own existence and his place within the natural order. Meanwhile, Suguro grew concerned because the successor to the Mountain Lord had not yet emerged. This period of mentorship and wandering occurred after Ginko’s encounter with Nui, shaping his understanding of the world before he fully embraced his role as a mushishi.
