Kanta, a weary man traveling to reunite with his wife and young daughter Futaba, pauses to rest in a forest. Exhausted and thirsty, he consumes a red fruit found on the ground near him and offers thanks to the plum. Following this event, he begins experiencing intense, vivid memories of periods preceding his own birth, occurring both during sleep and while awake. Seeking answers, he searches for a massive tree. Upon finally locating the tree, he finds that its discovery brings him no happiness or satisfaction.
