Ginko travels to a remote village where snow persists throughout most of the year, intending to study snow mushi. During his research, he encounters a young boy suffering from a bizarre condition that causes snow to fall continuously upon him. This affliction has rendered the boy completely insensitive to cold temperatures, while exposure to warmth causes him significant pain. Despite the evident dangers of his constant exposure to freezing conditions, the boy appears indifferent to his suffering and the risks involved. Ginko observes this strange phenomenon as he attempts to understand the nature of the boy's unique and troubling medical situation within the harsh winter environment.
