In December 2001, three years after the fall of Sadogashima, humanity initiates Alternative V to send a few people to an extrasolar planet while others fight the BETA invasion. Shirogane Takeru, a TSF pilot who originally came from a peaceful world, is left behind. After dying in combat, he wakes up in his room on the same day he first arrived in this timeline. Seeking to prevent Alternative V, he attempts to persuade Kouzuki Yuuko, the architect of the Alternative IV plan, to allow him to assist her in altering the course of events.
