Acting on Yamada-sensei's request, Rantaro, Kirimaru, and Shinbei travel to a battlefield to visit Rikichi. During their visit, Komatsuda arrives unexpectedly to observe Rikichi at work. The group witnesses Rikichi's activities in this military setting while being watched by the surprise visitor.
