Satoshi and Shirona commence their semifinal contest. Satoshi quickly falls behind as Shirona's Mikaruge defeats his Kairyu and Gangar. Pikachu enters the fray and manages to defeat Shirona's Tritodon, despite suffering from a type disadvantage. However, the momentum shifts when Mikaruge is taken down by Pikachu. In a final twist, Mikaruge uses Destiny Bond to knock out Pikachu as well, resulting in Pikachu's elimination from the battle.
