Poputepipikku Kinen

A campaign called Pop Team Epic Kinen was launched on April 26, 2018, on the Japan Racing Association's Umabi.jp site. It allowed users to create personalized avatars of Popuko or Pipimi to act as virtual spectators. The campaign promised a surprise when one million avatars were created, which was achieved by late May 2018. In response, the JRA released a branded webisode on June 14, 2018. The webisode was produced by Space Neko Company, known for animating parts of the Pop Team Story and some TV series sketches. Mikako Komatsu and Ryusei Nakao voiced Popuko in the first and second halves, while Sumire Uesaka and Norio Wakamoto provided Pipimi's voice. The JRA also conducted promotional events at Tokyo Racecourse.
