Following their triumph over Hades, the Saints find themselves facing a new challenge. Seiya is severely injured and confined to a wheelchair with no hope of recovery. Artemis, Athena’s twin sister and deity of the Moon, offers to heal Seiya in exchange for control of Sanctuary. Athena agrees, allowing Artemis and her "Knights of the Sky" to take over. Seiya and the remaining Bronze Saints must now fight against Zeus’s forces to reclaim Sanctuary. The effort is complicated by the fact that Hydra Ichi, Unicorn Jabu, and Silver Saint Ophiuchus Shaina have allied with Artemis and Apollo.
