Dr. Ni informs Gyokumen Koushu about it, but Lirin overhears the conversation and relays the information to Kougaiji. Kanzeon Bosatsu, also known as The Merciful Goddess, then gives Sanzo and his companions a mission: locate the Pearl Jade and secure it to prevent it from being misused.
