Ushio Kazama confesses to Sumika Murasame that she has feelings for Chizuka Nishikigi, a second-year student at the school library. Sumika cautions Ushio that Chizuka might already have romantic interests, warning that Ushio risks heartbreak. This advice upsets Ushio. The following day, Sumika rescues Masaki Akemiya from a falling box but denies being kind. Later, Chizuka rejects Ushio because the person Ushio liked showed interest in Ushio instead. Sumika, who had waited to apologize, arrives to comfort Ushio. The two friends reconcile and make up after Sumika provides support during this difficult moment for Ushio.
