Shanshan De Hongxing: Hongxing Xiao Yongshi

Based on a novel by Li Xintian, this animated film is a children's story set in 1930s China. Lam Chiu Yin, known for *Naked Ambition* and *Love on the Rocks*, shifts to a new style for this tale of a young boy. Dongzi, a village boy living through turbulent times, looks up to his Red Army father and the Red Guards who defend his home from a cruel landlord. After his father departs for the Long March, he leaves behind a red star for Dongzi. The star becomes a symbol of guidance as Dongzi faces various challenges and grows up amid the shifting landscape of wartime China.
