Shin Taketori Monogatari: 1000-nen Joou

In 1999, Amamori Hajime is an elementary student dealing with school and friends when a device his father is testing explodes, destroying their home. Taken in by his uncle, an astronomer, Hajime moves to an observatory where he reunites with Yukino Yayoi, a girl he had previously met and admired. Yayoi works as his uncle’s assistant and runs a ramen shop with her parents. She is secretly the Millennial Queen, sent by her planet, LaMetal, to Earth to prevent its destruction. LaMetal’s highly elliptical orbit brings it dangerously close to Earth every thousand years, triggering catastrophic events. Yayoi’s mission is to save as many humans as possible by relocating them to LaMetal. However, a figure known as the head of the Millennial Thieves opposes her efforts. His motives and knowledge of Yayoi’s identity remain unclear.
