Provoked by Mikhael and Sasha, Light breaks a seal on his genesis-class weapon, God Requiem Gungnir. This attack proves highly effective against the angels, destroying both the Angel Ocarina and the Blessing and Retribution shield. Mikhael attempts to escape but is halted by teleportation-jamming magic. Despair sets in as they discover their final hope, the White Knights, has already been defeated. Following this revelation, Mikhael betrays Sasha, who then pleads for her life before facing Light's judgment.
