Masahiro officially becomes an onmyouji-in-training, prompting his father to take him to visit the head of the Fujiwara clan. During the visit to the Fujiwara clan’s castle, he encounters Princess Akiko, who possesses the unusual ability to see spirits. The peaceful gathering is abruptly shattered when the castle bursts into flames. Amidst the chaos, Akiko is attacked by a spirit, compelling Masahiro to step in and defend her from the supernatural threat.
