Following his loss to Akagi, Rukawa displays his full potential through a spectacular dunk. Hanamichi is permitted to play for the final two minutes of the match, where he showcases dribbling techniques he acquired from Ayako. Despite this opportunity, he declines to cooperate with his teammate Rukawa. Instead of passing, Hanamichi attempts a solo slam dunk but fails, accidentally striking Akagi in the head with the ball during the chaotic end of the game.
