Methode and Genau arrive at a village destroyed by demons after receiving a request from the great mage Serie. They discover the sole survivor, a man Genau recognizes from his childhood, who dies in his arms. After surviving an ambush caused by mistaken identity, the duo encounters Frieren’s party, who received a similar mission. Upon examining the victims, including members of the Noam Company's private militia, they note the presence of a warrior superior to Stark. Since the demons they eliminated were weak, they deduce the attack’s leader remains alive. The group concludes the mastermind wielded four swords, prompting Genau to request assistance in hunting the creature down.
