The 73rd graduating class of the Defense University travels back to planet Kibi aboard the combat spaceship Amaterasu. Upon arrival, they discover that their home world has been subdued by an unknown force. Unable to land, the cadets remain on the ship. To combat the oppressor responsible for the subjugation, they enter into a deal with the Galaxy Network. This agreement allows them to fight back against the forces that have taken control of their planet. The narrative focuses on the cadets' efforts to reclaim their home through this new alliance.
