Ep. 1: Rai discovers a mysterious box while returning home with prize money after winning a card competition.

Rai remembers his mother's birthday and travels to the city to buy a gift. He is challenged by an old rival to a card stacking competition, where he meets the Tigeroid and Tai Chi Chaser, Tori. Tori withdraws, allowing Rai to win by default. While walking home with his prize money, Rai finds a box in an antique store. He rushes home to show it to his mother but encounters his first Dragonoid adversary, Luka. In a strange sequence of events, Rai's house is destroyed and his mother vanishes without explanation. Overcome with hysteria, Rai is knocked unconscious by Tori using the "sleep" character. The Tigeroids then transport Rai back to the Tigeroid Airship.
