Tanaka visits a temple before school to pray for a peaceful, lazy day. Miyano, a classmate, asks him to take her on as an apprentice because she wishes to become a listless, mature woman. Tanaka declines, as he does not want new friends. Miyano persists, and he eventually agrees to accept her for just one day. Miyano then begins observing Tanaka closely, attempting to mimic his listless behavior and attitude.
