The luxury spaceliner Titan is struck by an asteroid, forcing Astro and others to escape in a malfunctioning lifeboat. They land in an atmospheric crater on the moon, where Astro finds the wreck of a Russian spacecraft from 1990. The female pilot survived for thirty years, building a robot named Ivan and discovering large diamonds. These gems hold no value until rescue arrives. Boon Marukubi, a ruthless passenger, attempts to seize the diamonds but is abandoned. Ivan takes care of him, leaving the fate of the group uncertain as they await salvation from their stranded position.
