Kaneki wakes in Anteiku and encounters Hide, who reveals he knew Kaneki was a ghoul after Kaneki saved him from Nishio. Hide explains he was injured while transporting Kaneki and urges him to go home before collapsing. Meanwhile, Touka arrives at Anteiku to find it burning. She spots Kaneki exiting with a body and chases him, dodging falling rubble shot by a hardened Kagune. During the pursuit, she meets Renji, who mentions a final order from Yoshimura. Touka watches Kaneki approach the CCG, realizing he is carrying Hide’s dead body. He confronts Arima, the CCG’s ace. The episode concludes with Touka opening a new café named :re.
