Three characters form the core of the narrative: Uesugi Kazuya, his older twin brother Tatsuya, and Asakura Minami. Kazuya is a popular and accomplished middle school baseball pitcher known for his dedication and skill. Tatsuya, in contrast, is a disinterested student who has let Kazuya take the spotlight, even though he might be more naturally talented. Minami, their childhood friend and neighbor, is close to both and sees them as equals. Public opinion expects Kazuya and Minami to eventually become a couple, a belief Tatsuya also holds. However, as the story unfolds, Tatsuya begins to question his willingness to support his brother if it means sacrificing Minami to him. The narrative explores Tatsuya's struggle to assert himself against Kazuya, the shifting dynamics among the three, and their shared efforts to help Minami achieve her aspirations.
