Uwa no Sora kara Kaetekuru

A protagonist spends time with friends but finds the conversation unengaging, frequently drifting into his own imagination. As he returns to the real world, the interactions struggle to progress. Through repeated escapes into his thoughts, he begins to notice the emptiness of his daydreams and grows more curious about the flow of the conversation and the relationships forming around him. Eventually, he chooses to reengage with the people present. Created as a first-year project in 2010 by Naoaki Shibuta at the Graduate School of Film and New Media, Department of Animation, Tokyo University of the Arts.
