In an alternate 21st century, Japan becomes a global leader in robotics through Daiwa Heavy Industries. As human body enhancements using robots emerge, global sentiment shifts, prompting the U.N. to impose a 2067 ban on robotics research. Japan opposes the ban but cannot stop it, leading to its withdrawal from global politics in favor of technological isolation. Trade continues, but Japan vanishes from the international stage. A decade later, the U.S. agency SWORD investigates unexplained events, suspecting Japan has secretly advanced banned technologies via the RACE network. A team of agents is sent to infiltrate the country, with Vexille, an experienced agent, uncovering the disturbing reality behind Japan's decade of seclusion.
